Hell: 18 inches high and rising

Nothing out of the ordinary to report today. J, LD and P went to the warehouse and got some work done. I stitched at home. I actually got to watch some tv, and will do a bit more crocheting before bed.

We discovered a local restaurant. We all enjoyed our eggs, toast and hash browns or home fries. I stole some of LD's pancakes. It was delightful. We braved the snow, and it was worth it.

It was a small glimmer of a day--some hope brought back into a situation that was proving to be quite glum. J watched a video of people in the Bronx without heat. I watched something on CNN about women in Afghanistan who set themselves on fire to get out of marriages or family, even after the Taliban has been ousted out of power.

Suddenly, our trials seemed quite a bit less dire, and I think I put myself back into right mindfulness and it's all in perspective again. Things could be a lot worse, COMPARATIVELY. I'm still angry, but not quite so much.
